I can relate to fear of dentistry in a foreign country. I had my first root canal when we lived in Norway without anesthesia. I understood why the foam in the arms of the chair was all torn away -- the pain was so awful. When I had to stand up to go to another room for an X-ray, I fainted. I definitely recommend anesthesia!
